How to extract PDF pages as images
Updated: 2026-11-07
Sometimes a page is needed as a picture rather than a document: a slide for a chat, a page for a website, a frame for a design file. The PDF to PNG converter turns selected pages into image files, and the document itself never leaves your device.
Open the document and select pages
Drop the PDF onto the page or choose it with the file picker. Thumbnails are rendered on your device, so you can see exactly which pages you are choosing.
Tick single pages, use All pages or No pages, or type a range such as 1-3,5,8. Only the pages you select are rendered, which keeps both the waiting time and the download small.
Choose the resolution you actually need
72 DPI suits a quick preview, 150 DPI suits screens and slides, and 300 DPI suits printing. These are not labels: an A4 page becomes roughly 595 × 842 pixels at 72 DPI, 1240 × 1754 at 150 DPI and 2480 × 3508 at 300 DPI.
Higher settings take longer and produce larger files, and every rendered page occupies memory while it exists. The resolution guide explains the arithmetic and the memory cost behind it.
What extracting a page means here
Each output is a picture of the page as it looks. Selectable text, links and form fields become pixels and stop being usable, so keep the PDF as well if you still need them.
This is also not a way to pull the original photographs out of a PDF. The converter draws the page; it does not recover embedded images at their original quality.
Download one page or all of them
Every page is named after the file you opened, for example document-page-001.png, and numbered in order. A single page downloads directly; several pages arrive together as a ZIP, and each one can still be taken separately from the result list.
A document is limited to 200 pages and roughly 400 megapixels per batch, so a very long document at 300 DPI is better converted a few pages at a time.
Questions about this guide
Can I extract only one page?
Yes. Tick that page, or type its number in the range field as 5 or 1-3,5. Only the selected pages are rendered.
Do the PNGs keep links or selectable text?
No. Each output is a picture of the page, so links, form fields and text selection stop working. Keep the original PDF if you still need them.
How large will the images be?
It depends on the resolution and the page size: an A4 page is roughly 1240 × 1754 pixels at 150 DPI and about 2480 × 3508 at 300 DPI.
